As it was always hard for me to hang on to a diet for more than a few days, I have always been trying to discover the effective ways to reduce my body fat. But I would always lose the motivation and mess up my diet plan. After the unsuccessful attempts at losing some pounds, I began to see the common mistakes that led to my failure.


To find an effective way to reduce body fat you must first identify what are the things that prevent you from losing the excess fat. I have compiled a list of common mistakes below that become a hindrance in achieving successful weight loss.

Some Tips 

• Skipping breakfast.

This is a definite no no. You would have heard the saying that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Well it sure is! Because this is the meal that prepares your body and mind for the day ahead.

• Binging every other day.

Make sure you eat a balanced diet always. Don’t starve yourself one day and eat like there is no tomorrow the next day. This will only cause unnecessary health complications like acidity. Set a healthy meal plan for the week that you can look forward to.

• Be careful when buying “Diet” foods.

Many foods are labeled as health foods like low calories or low fat, but may contain saturated fats or trans fats or high in sugar. Stay away from packaged processed foods.

• Thinking if you can get slim.

Keep a strong will, and follow though on your initiative. Keep negative thoughts away from your mind. Motivating yourself is a key factor here.

• Eating only salads for main meals.

By eating salads for main meals, what happens is you don’t feel full and are constantly hungry. This affects your motivation to continue with the diet.

• Setting your goals too high.

Set goals that are achievable. For example you can set a target to lose 3 LBS or more in a week. At the end of the week if you lose 3 LBS, you have reached your target. And if you lose more it is a bonus.
